Still I Stand


In this photo series, all of the subjects  do have or had faced various hardships—visible disabilities, invisible illness, and traumatic life circumstances. These difficulties alone give them every right to feel disheartened, weakened, and even overwhelmed. Though they could sulk and be justified in feeling blue, these individuals have handled their difficulties with stride and grace. With each passing day, they make the courageous choice to live boldly. Through fearlessly displaying medical devices and building online communities, pushing past the pain of chronic diseases to start their own business, shamelessly displaying amputated limbs, and navigating the job market, post wrongful convictions these subjects have displayed their resilience and commitment to –Still, Stand.
